The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. EAMJ does not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Personal information may be shared only when necessary and strictly for journal operations, including: online hosting and publishing platforms (e.g. Africa Journals Online – AJOL), indexing and abstracting services and plagiarism detection, ethical screening, and editorial management systems

All third parties are expected to adhere to appropriate data protection and confidentiality standards.

Data Retention

Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill editorial, legal, archival, and scholarly purposes. Published articles and associated metadata form part of the permanent scholarly record and may be retained indefinitely. Upon acceptance for publication, authors are required to transfer copyright to the East African Medical Journal in accordance with international copyright standards and the Copyright Act, Chapter 130, Laws of Kenya, unless otherwise stated.
